Privacy Policy

Ice Runner, listed as Ice Runner: Save Penguins, is developed by Shahryar Monghasemi. This policy covers the iPhone and iPad game, its TestFlight beta, and this website. For privacy questions or requests, email icerunner.team@gmail.com.

Playing the game

The game works offline and does not send your gameplay or saved progress to me or to a game server. It has no account registration, advertising, in-app purchases, third-party analytics, or tracking SDKs. It does not request access to your location, contacts, photos, camera, or microphone.

Saved progress on your device

Ice Runner saves your scores, collected fish and rewards, rescued penguins, colony progress, selected character, level history, and sound and music preferences on your device. These records let you continue playing and keep your settings. I cannot access them remotely.

Deleting the app removes its local saved data. Offloading the app keeps that data. Device backups may contain saved progress and may restore it later, depending on your Apple settings; manage those backups through Apple’s device and backup controls.

TestFlight beta testing

When you install the beta through TestFlight, Apple automatically collects crash logs and usage information and makes it available to me. This can include your device model, operating system, app version, installations, sessions, and crashes. This collection is part of TestFlight even though the game has no analytics SDK.

Apple also shares feedback and screenshots you choose to submit. Your name and email may be visible when you join by email or provide them with feedback; joining only through a public invitation link does not display your name or email to me. I use beta information to investigate problems and improve Ice Runner, and do not share TestFlight information with third parties.

Contacting support

If you email me, I receive your email address, any name you provide, and the message and attachments you send. I use them to respond, troubleshoot problems, and handle privacy requests. Support email is processed through Gmail under Google’s Privacy Policy. Please send only the information needed to explain your issue.

Visiting this website

This website uses Google Analytics 4 to understand page visits, traffic sources, scrolling, outbound link clicks, and video engagement. Google processes information about your browser and device, approximate location, and website activity. Analytics cookies distinguish browsers and sessions; they are configured to expire after six months and may be renewed on later visits. Advertising features and Google signals are disabled. The website does not send names or email addresses to Analytics, and page URLs sent by this integration omit query strings and fragments.

For visitors detected in the United States, analytics starts automatically unless you previously declined or your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal. Elsewhere, or if your country cannot be determined, analytics stays off until you choose Allow analytics. The site checks your country through its existing hosting provider; it does not save or send the lookup response to Google Analytics.

Use Analytics settings in the footer of any page and choose No thanks to turn analytics off. Your explicit choice is stored locally in your browser until you change it or clear site data. Declining stops further analytics collection and removes this site’s Analytics cookies. Previously collected information is not automatically deleted. Gameplay videos and images are served as site files, without embedded social or video-platform players. This website has no sign-in or submission forms. Website analytics is separate from the game and does not collect your game saves.

The website is hosted through OpenAI’s Sites service. Hosting and infrastructure providers process technical request information, such as IP addresses and browser details, to deliver and protect the site, and may retain service logs. Their processing is governed by their policies, including OpenAI’s Privacy Policy. Declining analytics does not stop the technical requests needed to deliver the website.

If you follow an external link, that service’s privacy policy applies to your visit.

Use, retention, and your choices

I do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising. I retain support correspondence and any beta information I keep only as long as needed to address requests, investigate issues, and meet applicable legal obligations. Apple, Google, and the website’s hosting providers manage information in their own services under their respective policies.

You can contact icerunner.team@gmail.com to request access, correction, or deletion of information I hold about you. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to object to or restrict processing or to contact your local data protection authority. I cannot remotely retrieve or delete your on-device game save, or control records retained independently by Apple or other service providers.

Children’s information

The game does not ask players, including children, to provide personal information. If you believe a child has sent personal information through support or beta feedback, contact me to request its removal from records I control.

Changes to this policy

I will update this page and its effective date when data practices change. Changes to analytics or features such as online accounts or advertising will be reflected here before they are introduced.
